Additionally, they'll decry Israel's actions in Gaza as "genocide" (if the Israelis were being genocidal, they're doing a lousy job of it), but remain completely oblivious to the very literal genocide they're calling for as self-appointed planetary spokesbeings.

If somehow they manage to get their supposed paradise, the only consolation would be that THEIR carbon would be sequestered as well, in a shallow mass grave, all the while pleading that they were good Party members as they're being herded to the pit, like Beria was said to be doing as he was being dragged off to his execution after his patron Stalin died.

This isn't any kind of a surprise. I read a novel in the early 90's where the main character was "just a normal liberal" (who was rich enough to buy multiple properties in her California town and had a large enough garden to sustain herself and some others) who lucked into knowing some people who stealth-vaccinated her against the global pandemic they engineered and thus survived and had the needed land and farming know-how to survive -- and all of this was presented as a good thing by that author. "Just how things should be." That novel convinced me that the enviro-wackos were evil.

Then at the end of the 90's Tom Clancy released "Rainbow Six" with its pandemic-inducing enviro-wacko villains who seemed completely plausible, becuz their actions in the book matched the zeitgeist of the folks in the news. And wasn't the "Zero Population" movement a big thing in the 70's?

I always respected the movie The Kingsmen because the bad guy was an environmentalist whack job who wanted to purge the population...all except for the elites who were on board with his plan.
