Why school choice matters (Paid Subscriber Exclusive)
We talk a fair bit about the problems with both academia and public school. Then again, since public school teachers come from our colleges and universities, no one should be overly surprised to see the two so closely related.
Yet we should be terrified.
Over the last year or two, we’ve seen countless instances of public school teachers deciding to just do whatever they want, that the parents shouldn’t have any say in how their kids are educated, and even some decide to circumvent state law in some cases.
I know a lot of teachers, and I have no doubt that those individuals are caring educators who only want to help their students.
They’re not everyone, though, and that’s why we need to talk a bit about school choice.
