I’ve said this before, but I was born and raised in the South. Based on when that upbringing happened, I couldn’t help but see the vestiges of segregation all around me. Sure, the separate water fountains were gone, but there were still plenty of other markers.
And I’m going to flat-out tell you that segregation hurt this region badly. We haven’t recovered from it yet.
So you can imagine why it bothers me so much to see crap like this pop up again after all these years.
