“Whiteness,” as it’s presented in public discourse, is a condition of being white that includes a lot of things. Among those is racism or white supremacy.
To those that use the term, anything culturally related to western civilization is linked to that racism, making everything about race.
But a lot of people actually like what western civilization has accomplished. They’re not onboard with the idea that being completely and totally obsessed with race was a good thing.
And, as a result, white supremacy seems to have a level of diversity you won’t see elsewhere.
