I started my educational life off at a private school. My parents didn’t make a ton, either, so it involved a fair bit of scrimping and saving on their part. The fact that it wasn’t a public school may have meant it was a better school—and, in fact, it was—but it was still a school based on the same model as all public schools.
And it was kind of a disaster.
