When Pete Buttigieg was nominated to be Secretary of Transportation, we all suspected it was little more than a political bone being thrown to a surprising rising star in the Democratic Party.
I mean, the only qualification he had was basically, “I like trains.”
And really, running the Department of Transportation is usually about as easy a job as you can get at the cabinet level. Most who have served in that role are fairly anonymous to history.
It’s one of those jobs where, if you can remember who is filling that role, they probably screwed up.
And we all know Pete Buttigieg is filling that role. Especially when a friendly publication is noting poorly his tenure is going.
