Last week, a commenter brought up the story of an art history professor being under fire for showing a work of art that was a depiction of Mohammed, which is considered an affront to Muslims.
The professor wasn’t Muslim, of course, and she apparently gave warnings so people who didn’t want to see it could adjust as needed, but it was a historic work of art and one that warranted being shown in class.
Unsurprisingly, people flipped their lids. We were looking at the professor facing disciplinary action for teaching the class.
Well, the university has backed off, but there are still issues with their response.
