Once, at least in my mind, academia was where the best and brightest went in an effort to advance human understanding. Some went into science, but others went toward the humanities. It didn’t matter to me since I’ve long held both are important to understand.
But somewhere along the way, things got off track.
Now, academia is more concerned with matters beyond their actual subjects and, in trying to address racism, is actually being pretty racist.
