The political plantation is very real, and Hakeem Jefferies makes it obvious
I know a number of black men and women who describe themselves as either conservatives, libertarians, or just plain Republicans. They don’t buy into the leftist rhetoric that because they are black, they’re somehow supposed to be liberal.
For many, that’s because they recognize the role Democratic policies have played in creating income disparities for black families. Others have different reasons.
But there’s this idea of a political plantation that black men and women are supposed to stay on, one where they vote Democrat like good little drones, and it’s very real.
Now, House minority leader Hakeem Jefferies has made it blindingly obvious for anyone who didn’t believe beforehand.
