For a while now, solar power has been touted as an essential part of reaching zero carbon emissions. President Joe Biden has vowed that’s where the country will be by 2050, after all, and if that’s going to be the case, we need to get cracking.
However, only two power sources are really being considered by most folks: Wind and solar power.
There are difficulties with both. For example, each is dependent on a certain set of weather conditions in order to work appropriately. Wind doesn’t work without, well, wind and solar won’t work without direct sunlight.
Which is why solar is often put in the desert.
Yet it seems people are starting to realize the problem with this.
