Folks like Javier Milei isn’t someone I thought would have a shot in hell of winning office much of anywhere. Before this, the libertarian elected with about the largest population was Glenn Jacobs, mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
Yet Milei somehow convinced the people of Argentina to elect a self-describe anarcho-capitalist as president.
While I’m not a big fan of AnCaps as a general rule—I tend to think they’re too optimistic about human nature—I can respect whatever Milei did to get elected. Moreover, it seems to be doing good for Argentina already.
