I haven’t been to a lot of movies lately. I used to go to the theater all the time. There was always something a little magical about seeing a film in the theater.
COVID kind of killed that for me, what with not being able to do it for a good long while coupled with movies showing up on streaming services far faster than they did.
But Friday, I took my kids to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
My family is a family of tabletop gamers. I’ve been playing since the 1990s. My wife started playing in the early 2000s and my son has been playing for the better part of a decade himself now at just 22 years old.
The movie was a hell of a lot of fun; so much so, in fact, that I was watching the box office receipts in hopes that it would perform well and we’d get more content like that.
In looking, though, I saw something interesting and couldn’t help but wonder if Hollywood would notice.
