So much for electric vehicle sales

Government sales targets are always a terrible idea and here's why

President Joe Biden said he wanted the sale of electric vehicles to make up 50 percent of all auto sales to American consumers by 2030. The idea being, I suppose, that if you have two cars, one would be electric.

However, the problem with that is and has always been the fact that it requires the American consumer to actually want an electric vehicle, or EV for short.

In theory, that could be pushed through things like tax credits, but only so far.

As things currently stand, though, Biden is going to be disappointed.
