I’m not a big fan of the mainstream media. Part of that is because I backed them as neutral for far too long before it became impossible to do so. As a result, I feel sort of taken advantage of.
So yeah, I’m critical of what they do and how they do their jobs.
But we live in a world now where anyone can be the media. I started out on a local blog a then-buddy of mine created. I turned that into a career, so I’m pretty stoked, all things considered.
Yet it seems not everyone has the good fortune I’ve had. Some have run into issues where they’ve been denied free press protections because they weren’t part of the mainstream media.
Now, a federal court decision has something to say about that behavior.
