Only the woke don't know they're over
If you’re reading this, you’re probably one of those who absolutely despise those we call “woke.” Their incessant drive to tell you that you suck for everything you do simply because of who you are, their determination to make sure you conform to the roles they’ve decided are yours, and their general unlikeability has made them the kind of person few of us want anything to do with.
But while we feel that way, do others? Is this just us, or are we simply the first to see what is blatantly clear to every non-woke person out there?
Well, it seems we’re not alone, folks.
There seems to be a rumbling in the distance going on, and it’s not just isolated enclaves in the U.S. All over the world, signs point to regular folks, average working, middle-class stiffs, being about up to their eyeballs with the disconnected elites in power in so many countries. Even once hard-core Socialist bastions like Sweden have seen the people who actually pay the freight for the Socialist paradise to exist, show up at the ballot box and vote – if you listened to those running the show – definitively against their best interests (Interests, not surprisingly, best determined by those holding office. That’s how this works.).
Whatever could be causing this breakaway from the benevolent dictatorship of the (immensely proud of being) over-educated ruling class? A culmination of any number of things, but it mostly boils down to arrogance and the attempted imposition of a serf class on citizenry who remember what it was like to have rights in a livable country that was secure.
In Sweden, last week’s Parliament elections have most of Europe gasping for breath. Good, old reliably Socialist Sweden threw a five-alarm fire switch on the status quo when they elected a Parliament that would be 20.5% Sweden Democrats. Don’t let the name fool you – they are a right-wing nationalist, anti-immigrant, and anti-Muslim party, who have been making steady gains over the past few election cycles, but now? Hello. They are the second largest party in the Swedish Parliment.
Now, let’s remember that Sweden is nothing like the United States. Their version of the right tends to look like our Democrats in a lot of ways.
However, if Sweden is rejecting wokeist rule, then maybe the tides are shifting.
And really, why wouldn’t it?
Socialism, for example, has absolutely nothing to recommend it. Woke ideology is generally nothing more than a Marxist spinning of the Oppression Olympics designed to push socialism onto a group of people.
Yet Sweden has leaned socialist in a lot of ways for decades. If they’re starting to reject all of that, how can the woke here hope to survive?
As the article goes on to note, they’re not.
Democrats who should be at least relatively safe don’t seem to be. They’re being challenged in the polls to a degree that they probably shouldn’t be. While they might still win, their seats now look up for grabs and will likely appear that way in two years unless they start changing their own tune.
And really, this is all very good news, because we can’t continue on the path we currently are. Something has to give.
However, if we have to give, it’s not going to go the way some people think. We’re not going to roll over and just let them have their way and there’s nowhere for us to go and enjoy freedom.
That leaves the third option, which involves watering a certain tree. That option is ugly and unpleasant and won’t be good for anyone in the long run, but it’s infinitely preferable to capitulation with tyranny.
Luckily, as the worm turns against the woke, the need to water that tree decreases. Let’s hope this particular infection is stamped out for good, though, or it’ll be our children or grandchildren who need their watering cans.
