Oh how the mighty have fallen
A few years back, the mantra “defund the police” was huge in certain parts of the country. People wanted to see funding stripped from law enforcement and used in a myriad of other ways, ostensibly to prevent people from becoming criminals.
While I’ve long advocated for that approach, I didn’t want to strip police departments to do it. Those kinds of programs take years to yield results and you’ve still got crim in the meantime.
Yet some places did just that. They defunded the police and did so with some degree of popular support, at least in their locality.
Now, it seems that the mighty have fallen.
