I grew up, more or less, as a city boy. By that, I mean that my address was always in either a city or the suburb of one. Not a huge city, but a city just the same.
Yet I’ve never been able to think of myself that way, probably because of all the time I spent in the woods, either hunting, fishing, camping, or just running around. I’m comfortable around trees, not buildings.
So I generally take the country side in the “country vs. city” debate.
That’s where city folks think country folks are stupid while country folks think city folks are soft.
Well, based on what just happened in Newark, that debate might shift. After all, the city just made the kind of blunder it’s going to be hard not to make fun of.
