One of my favorite flags from American history is the Gadsden Flag. The coiled rattlesnake—something indigenous to the New World—and a message warning our enemies to leave us alone.
For a libertarian like me, it’s music to my ears.
But, as you’ve probably heard, there was a story recently about a kid who was kicked out of class for wearing a patch with the flag on it. He’s since been returned to class, of course, but it has led to a lot of debate.
There’s a reason for it.
