When I bought a small weekly newspaper ages ago, it was my first step into the world of full-time journalism. I’d been getting paid for my work for a little while at that point, but I finally was in a position to try and do it to support my family.

It did not go well, and there are a lot of reasons for that, but I also really don’t have the disposition to run a newspaper. That didn’t help.

Tilting At Windmills is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

But because of those steps, I look at the nature of journalism and feel nothing but disgust. Luckily, in another example of the pendulum swinging a different direction, it feels like nature is healing in the news industry.
