IMAX-level projection
Democrats often accuse the right of engaging in various forms of manipulation. They say Republicans are colluding with others or engaging in astroturf campaigns. Nothing that comes from the right is organic, you see, because…well, they never really get to that part.
But why do they say these things? They have to know it’s not true. Not every Republican voter is duped. Sure, they might think every Trump supporter is garbage or deplorable, but they can’t think there’s so little support for Republicans as a general think that they can’t generate actual grass-roots movements.
Well, it seems there’s a reason they think that. It’s called “projection.”
