Huh. Never thought I'd actually see an academic get fired for lying
But a happy ending almost didn't happen
A while back, I wrote about an FSU professor who was accused of either falsifying data or just being an idiot to make their case about racism.
It pissed me off to no end because there is actual racism, but pretending that there’s way more than there actually is does nothing but make it harder to see the very real problems as they are.
Yet, as an academic, I really didn’t see much happening to the professor in question. He lied, sure, but it was for the benefit of the right ideology, so I figured he’d eventually get a pass.
I’m glad to be wrong…but I almost wasn’t.
