Warning: I haven’t been to sleep since about 27 hours ago, as of this writing, so I apologize in advance if this isn’t really coherent.
Property rights shouldn’t be controversial or a point of contention. If you buy property, it’s yours. You should be free to do with it as you will.
Alright, so a lot of people are fine with zoning requirements that mean you can’t open a factory next door to a residential neighborhood and they’re fine with building codes. I get all that and I’m not really here to argue against them, either.
Not right now, anyway.
Instead, I want to talk about the all-out assault on property rights we’re seeing in this country where people’s homes are essentially stolen from them.
And no, this isn’t about eminent domain.
