Diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, typically called DEI—though DIE is really far more appropriate—are essentially predicated on the idea that merit is a bad thing with which to judge prospective employees and you should instead engage in discriminatory practices.
None of them will admit it’s any such thing, mind you, calling it something like an attempt to balance the ledger or something, but you can also dress a turd up in an evening gown. That doesn’t make it a prom queen.
DEI is a scam to elevate people who don’t deserve it. The thing is, in some cases, it’s more of a scam than others.
