When the pandemic hit, I wasn’t like a lot of people. I took it very seriously and, for the most part, listened to the guidelines. I minimized my travel and washed my hands like never before.
But the chinks in the armor started showing.
Public health officials first said that no, masks not only weren’t necessary but were useless to stop the spread of COVID, only to later not only require them but admit to lying about them so as to prevent a run on N95 mask supplies.
Trust was lost. Now, the CDC thinks it can regain it.
