he term “genius” is kind of like “hero.” It gets thrown around a lot and thus somewhat cheapens the term.
Yet there are geniuses. By some metrics, anyone with a high enough IQ qualifies as one, though most with high IQs also recognize that there are a lot of idiots that qualify as geniuses by that definition.
There are also those who do things that go beyond what has been done before and that others simply struggle just to equal.
A prime example of that is Picasso. While his work isn’t for everyone, there was a kind of genius in it. Yet, many seem to want to cancel him because he wasn’t exactly a great guy, particularly by today’s standards.
That really shouldn’t matter.
