Media bias is one of those subjects I talk about a fair bit, at least in some places. Part of the reason for that is because I’m still pissed that it took me so long to see it.
Yet in my defense, the bias of those days was subtle. It was clever, hiding the nuances in such a way as to shape opinion without being so blatant about it.
It was insidious, but it was necessary if the media wanted to maintain its claims of neutrality.
Those days are over and the New York Times led the way. Now, though, there’s a discussion about whether it can be saved.
