Academic freedom is a one-way street
Whenever some leftist academic decides to declare all white people racist or vilify Christians or claim all men are rapists, universities simply claim that academic freedom allows them the leeway to make such provocative statements.
And to be clear, I wouldn’t have an issue with this if there were at least some pushback from within academic circles. There usually isn’t.
Moreover, I’d also prefer to to be universal, that people could say what they wanted without repercussions to their career from any side of the debate.
That’s simply not the case.
